I have a friend who is stuck in 1989

He's 36 but still lives in his parent's two-bedroom apartment. His interests very, but none of them are about getting a job. He makes a little extra money and runs across some toys bartering on craigslist. Mom and dad still buy his clothes, food, and smokes. One month he'll be into guitars, then he'll trade all of his guitar stuff for rc car stuff, then he'll trade that for aquariums and related items, then it'll be computers.

Basically, the same shit he's been doing since he was 16. If I was his folks I wouldn't put up with that, but I guess they think that one day he'll get it together.

He's been telling me for a while that he thinks he could make some money if he had an air brush and he knows where he can get one for a good price. Well, he sold his rc car shit and now has enough money to buy the air brush, but he's already bought a guitar and I wouldn't be surprised if he blows the rest of his cash before he gets the brush. :crazy: But for the next 48 hours it's going to be "party like it's 1999." :rofl:

to be honest. let him live like that if he likes. a lot of parents are just lonely and appreciate coddling manchildren! and some people are just born to be manchildren in a perpetual 1989 of the mind. good for him, and his happy loser existence

Sounds like my friend with Cerebral Palsy's BF, except the friend's BF wasn't coddled by his parents and actually has a job and lives on his own, LOL.
