Who here saw THE MIST? (Warning: Spoilers Abound)

1. I hated it if it is the one I remember.

I did hate the part where he shot them, only to live!!!! That was the only twist worth seeing.

2. Read the book,

Having been in the grocery industry working retail at one time, I especially liked the story.

Although in that book, Steven King again points out the extremist of belief, but does capture distortions that can occur when people submit to fear or hysteria.

3. Pissed me RIGHT OFF that they changed the ending from the book.

That was horrible, horrible thing to do.

6. In the book they are driving and the thing with the many legs

goes walking over them. Right after that, they turn on the radio to see if they can catch a live station. Very faintly they do, and they hear only one word, "hope". Nobody shoots anybody and you are left to ponder the outcome. I like it when King leaves us with hope... which isn't all too often.

10. Stephen King said he liked the ending to the movie and wished he'd thought of it

I, for one, thought it was brilliant.

It was the one time in my moviegoing life where I was in a theater and there was dead silence, followed by someone screaming, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME!" Lots of laughs.

12. I like the little tiny grain of hope that I was left with after reading the

book. I'm glad Stephen King feels that way, but I liked his book the way it was. :)

That comment by the movie goer is hilarious.

13. That man would never have done what that changed ending showed.

Although it is cautionary, and meant in some way to say do not give up hope, it was not needed in the movie, and upset me also.

On another note, the military being responsible, is not soldiers, or even state military, much of their job is one of protection and defense, it in my view is the concept of war as an acceptable means to achieve for lesser goals like pride or greed or vengeance or because of fear, the mars views of things, that was the bad part.

I didn't have a problem with the ending. It IS a horror movie after all.

9. I preferred the book's ending also. The blu-ray I rented had a directors cut that was

in black and white. I had hoped that it might have included an alternate ending more like the one in the book but it did not. Still the black and white did not take anything away from what was, at it's heart, a pretty good monster movie.

Just wasn't good. I didn't read the book, nor have I seen the earlier versions. This was a remake, right? :shrug:

Or am I thinking about "The Fog"? :shrug:

I was damned surprised that the studios gave the go-ahead to film that particular ending. I didn't think they had the guts to do that in a feature film anymore.

I was pretty wiped out emotionally due to the last five minutes of the film.

24. I really disliked it and went with a couple of friends and we

couldn't stop laughing. It was sooooooooooo over the top. The last scene was the only interesting part of the movie (IMHO).

25. The movie is a classic.

I loved Ollie, and David, and the lady with the peas (except the ending got it wrong in my view)

And the defense of the store, the examples of what hysteria and fear can cause.

The fire mops, don't you see it?


And the opening scene of the movie, David was drawing a picture from a western.
