How many hetero-sexual marriages do you know of that have fallen apart
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 01:44 PM by Zinfandel
because gay people have been married now for a couple of month's?

Any marriages in jeopardy? I think not.

What don't the homophobes, some moderates and the conservative mind their own business?

And focus on real issues, like under funded education, soldiers being killed, poverty, corporations running our government, the unemployed, our fragile environment, our civil rights and our freedom of speech.

See my response to MagicRat's 'when to pop the question' poll ...
Marriage is a bad, bad thing for individual growth and expression.

2. actually there was a guy on NPR
one of those Fam Res. Council blow-hards going on and on about procreation and the raising of children. No data, no research, just the usual BS. I wish they had had one of my anthropologist friends on to set him straight. (uh I think he's straight)

4. I love when people try to claim the purpose of marriage is procreation
because you can always stump them by asking if that means that people who are unable to procreate should be prohibited from marriage? For example, women past the age of childbearing, women who've had hysterectomies, or a couple like myself and my husband - I had a tubal and he had a vasectomy before we met. Should we be prohibited from marrying, since we can't reproduce?

Idiots. They used much the same arguments against interracial marriage fifty years ago. They haven't learned anything.

5. I can't believe the level of ignorance at times
I haven't heard these "marriage is for procreation" ( well I think they mean sex, acutally) arguments since CCD ( CAtholic Christian Doctrine) many years ago!
