New 7-Eleven in our neighborhood; guess who was its first customer?

That's right - yours truly was the first to visit a brand new 7-Eleven that opened earlier this morning. And I have the receipt to prove it.

A receipt for two bottles of Mexican Coca-Cola, still made with sucrose instead of that high-fructose corn syrup nonsense.

2. We have Circle K here in Tucson...

...which is a 7/11 equivalent (we also have 7/11).

Circle K has a Slurpee equivalent (I forget what it's called) and
some of the stores actually have a TASTY(!!!) sugar-free "Slurpee"
(I think it's cherry).

We have a local small chain of fastfood sandwich joints here a la
Subway called Eegee's. Their sandwiches REALLY suck, but their
version of the Slurpee is MILES above the rest (it's pretty much
in a separate category -- spooned IN to your cup and then eaten
with a spoon rather than a straw.

3. I used to live down the street

...from the ORIGINAL 7-11. It wasn't nearly as cool as the Polar Bear Ice Cream down the block.

I only got to visit it once. Great ice cream. But now it's gone, and I do miss it so.
