1. How does it feel knowing you helped at least 3 people live
another day?

6. Feels fabulous!
This post is not so much of a brag as it is encouragement for other people to donate as well.

14. I feel the same way about donating
My husband and I go about 4 times a year.... we always make our next appointment to give blood while we are there donating blood.

3. Are you A+??
Asking because there's a shortage here, wondering if that's why you gave. Or is it something you do on a regular basis?

9. Helped organize the drive at work
We've been doing one every year since 2001. Well, actually, this year, I put one of my assistants in charge of it and he did a really good job.

BTW, I'm O positive. I think that makes me compatible with other types, right?

13. I'm also O+
Our blood can be accepted by anyone who is "positive" (A positive, etc.). O negative can be accepted by anyone at all. O+ are the most common, and we can't accept anything but type O blood, so the more O+ donors they get the better.

4. Did anyone offer you a free pint of beer to make up for the blood loss?
That's what the Karl Straus Brewery here in beautiful San Diego did a couple of weeks ago when it sponsored a blood drive.

I heard people were lined up for blocks.

12. That's a cool idea
But, no, that's not something we would be able to do at where I work.

Did you donate?

8. Donated to whom? The Kerry Campaign?
Edited on Thu Mar-25-04 02:31 PM by mobuto
I think they'd prefer dollars. But they might go for a kidney.

10. Way to go!
I donate as often as I am allowed - it's such an easy way to help others, I don't understand why more people don't.

17. That's great!
I probably should do it more than once a year. It really doesn't hurt and I've never had any problems with it.

Fact is, if we want blood to be there for ourselves or our loved ones in the event of an emergency, it only makes sense for all of us to help out when we are able.

Keep up your good effort!

21. Thanks!
It is easy for me since there is a regional office about a mile from where I work. If I had to wait for the bloodmobile I probably wouldn't be able to give more than once a year too.

20. Some of us aren't allowed
The blood donation people won't accept your blood if you lived in Europe in the late 1980s.

23. I know there's a lot of restrictions
This isn't to make people feel bad who are disqualified, just to encourage those who are. I'm sure you would if you could.
