Strange dream I had last night

First, some background. When I was in high school, my social status was respectable, as I was neither in the popular crowd, nor was I the one who was singled out for being picked on and ostracized by my classmates. That is to say, my social status was good enough that the popular kids would talk to me and treat me with respect, but not let me into their little group.

Anyway, there was this girl I went to high school with that would seem like a stereotypical teen movie caricature of the high school popular "Mean Girl": cheerleader, beautiful, bitchy and manipulative. Let's call her "J". I actually got along OK with "J", and we would occasionally talk. She seemed to treat me as "worthy" of her exalted attention.

Last night I dreamed that I was back in high school and I did something (I don't know what) to piss off "J", and what followed was social ostracism from all of my classmates. I remember feeling really desperate and upset.

Now I wonder what the dream all meant.
