I turn on ESPN 2 for Baseball tonight, and there's Curt Schilling
I have always known him as a right wing, obnoxious asshole. But I have not heard him speak for an extended amount of time before. I just watched him - he's everything I imagined. The guy is stuck on himself. It's disgusting. I won't be watching Baseball tonight for the rest of the season if he is featured.

What. An. Asshole.

1. What was he saying?

I'm watching Oklahoma-Stanford Final 4 game so I missed it. ESPN has quite a few analysts who are Republican such as Tim Hasselbeck or Merril Hodge. Usually when they bring on a new member they usually give them a few words about themselves kind of like an introduction even though most people know who he is.

3. Red Sox nation, bloody sock, "would you rather be out there"?
I have no desire to go out there. I went out on my terms. This is how I would prepare to throw a complete game on opening day. I want to talk about the game from a pitcher's perspective. Me, me, me. Very, very arrogant man.

6. I imagine that will die down as the season goes along
Most of that is understandable because the game today is Yankees-Red Sox so he really has perspective on what that rivalry game is like. Also the pitcher insights which is why players are brought in as analysts because they perspective on what the game is like from a player's or coach's standpoint.

4. Agreed.
And ESPN's just enabling both of them to get ratings. It's got to the point where I really cant watch ESPN because of it. :puke:

9. If you get the MLB Channel
It is well worth watching them instead of ESPN. They even hired Peter Gammons, so that's a plus.

5. Amen. Love MLB, but we still need some type of a salary cap
These two teams will continue to purchase wins until something is done. I'm all for the small market teams, like the Rays, for instance. And I'm afraid Carl Crawford will probably be a Yankee or Red Sox after this year.

7. I like Schill's baseball commentary
He talks baseball on WEEI in Boston, and he is knowledgable and brutally frank. Curt and his wife Shonda also do a lot of charity work (especially for skin cancer and ALS), so I cut him slack on the Republican stuff.

but when he opened his mouth, or if you have ever read his blog (if you haven't you may hate him after all), you realize what an asshole he is. Screw him.
