R.I.P. Monica - 1966-2010: a great friend and an unbeleivable voice

My good friend and band mate, Monica Jackson, passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday night at the way-too-young age of 43. We are devastated by her loss, and her family is in shock. Whatever vibes and prayers you might send to this lovely woman's family would be appreciated greatly.

For those who have never heard her (which I expect, sadly, is most of the world), this is Monica Jackson from last summer performing "Georgia on My Mind" with our band, SoulerCoaster:

Moni's two nicknames for me were "unklefunk" and "superbufa" depending on her mood - she was always Sweet Moni to me.

She had an absolutely wonderful voice -she could easily be up there with some of the great singers of our time. And she looks absolutely beautiful and radiant in the pictures you posted. You were fortunate to have had her as a friend and she was equally as fortunate to have had you as a friend. I know she'll live on in your heart and in your mind and that her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and in those who heard her wonderful voice.
