I am concerned about who would replace me
Things look pretty good with my potential new job. I am their choice candidate but have to be approved by corporate, who I will interview with, and pass the background and character reference checks. My new plant HR person said that she has never heard of anyone not being approved by corporate. Unless something bad happens, I will be leaving my company in the next month.
I am concernced about who will replace me though. I have serious concerns about the two women who I have trained as substitutes for my lab work. One has said that she would hate to have my job. The other made this statement today "Is it alright if I borrow one of the beakers to fill with water and drink?" This is just the latest in a number of other concerns that I have like her not understanding the concept of statistical average, leaving out important steps of lab procedure because she felt that they were unimportant, and washing equipment for measuring moistures with cleaning spray in between taking moistures thus making the recorded moistures higher.
I suppose that they might hire from outside but that takes time and I plan on giving two weeks notice, two weeks before I'll start my new job.
Does anyone else worry about these things when leaving a job? I am the only one who holds my position. I do important work for my company, which needs to be done at least every couple days (although is excessive if it is put off for a couple days). Does anyone else leaving a job worry about these things?

1. it's not your problem anymore when you leave
you'll be wrapped up in your new job so much you won't have time to worry about the ones you left behind.

2. Trust yourself that you ...
...trained them well!

If it makes you feel better, print out an outline of duties, steps, guidelines, "what NOT to do" etc. Whoever has to do the job might appreciate a reference guide. Tell them they may call you if they have any questions.

Don't worry or be hurt if you don't hear from them again.

3. I wrote detailed procedures
They were much better than the ones that I had been left with. The people who I trained of course had some concerns or questions which I didn't think of and they took notes on their instructions/training guide. They are not science people like me, BA biology. I answered their questions and addressed anything which I saw that they were doing wrong or may have misunderstood.
Still, these concerns happened. How can you anticipate that someone would want to drink out of a lab beaker?
