just listening to "like flies on sherbert" by the late alex chilton and i am besotted with its half-arsed aesthetic
i'm a huge steely dan nut too though, so hmm

The Stones are another example of just the right amount of slopitude. And loved Alex Chilton since the Box Tops.

is solid underlying melodies and harmonies and lyrics,
but executed with a looseness verging on incompetence
but that's a bit sweeping, i have qualifications to make. i do like that particular form of slopitude though
