"oases" was my choice. i checked my usual sources and couldn't come up with the easy proof, and figured a post on DU was just as quick, easy, and effective.

i'm not a journalism major, but i am pretty "up on language" for a variety of reasons, and really, i was shocked--completely flabbergasted, to be honest--when my family decided to take me on over the plural of oasis. once again, i was right. i guess because i hesitated a moment, they thought they smelled blood. heh heh. ;-)
