I about fell out of my bed in admiration that these 2 would be in such close proximity to each other. Plus the ultimate sign of respect: Abbie is now not only sniffing Evie's butt but he's fascinated with checking out what she did after she leaves the litter box area.

5. That's good news!

I adopted two shelter puppies (from different shelters and one month apart) a year ago. We went through hell when we brought the second puppy home, even though the first puppy was only here for one month. It took at least one month for the two of them to get along!!

I read everything I could find on the subject and the bottom line is:
