Anyone on DU playing Final Fantasy Online?
The roomie is letting me play FF11(FF Online) in his stead (he is bored with it and doesn't want to go through all the trouble of leveling up etc.) so I get to play his character. Yay. I am an ex-EQ addict, so I love it.

1. tell your roomie to get a code buster cd
you can level all the way up in 2 minutes and can finish a game in about a week.

I believe in code busters because I ain't got all day.

3. Stopped once I got my ranger up to lev 34
Had a lot of fun getting there. But in the end the level grind and bland item factor ground me down.

4. Yeah- it has similar problems to EQ..
I enjoy the party/camp factor though.

I am not quite sure why, but it almost exciting when you have a good group and everyone has to do their job just right or the group is fragged.

6. Yeah, thats when its good
The shell I was part of had some good vibes going on. But in their exuberance to become more "relavant" they brought in too many individuals that just didn't mesh.

One session of a large number of us trying to beat a walrus to death (eco quest) showed me the writing on the wall. I switched to FFX-2 and haven't been back since.

7. LOL
I have only gotten up to level 17, about to be 18 and have all my stuff for the sub-job quest.

The thing I like the most about it is how you can just wake up one day and say "Hey I wanna do something totally different" and sill have all your resources essentially.

5. I'm a recovering EverCrackhead myself
And I have been salivating over that game for a while. I think I won't get sucked back in until they come up with a truly interactive world, though, where you can actually build a house and rise to power and shit. We're probably 7-10 years from that, so in the meantime I will try to become independently wealthy so that when I quit my job and play online fantasy games all day, my family won't starve.
