Would cats love and respect us if they had opposable thumbs?
Seriously, I'm thinking if my cats had the ability to open up their own cans of foods they'd toss me out on the street.

What do you think?

2. Sure, Merlin can open his food container by butting it with his head.
He still needs me to buy it for him. If your cats had opposable thumbs, they would still need you to purchase the can. If they could earn money...now that's another story. ;)

It was a freak thing - obviously she couldn't open her own food cans, but she could pick up pencils.
