*sigh* I REALLY need a job....
No place that I've applied to or sent a resume has even responded...

Poor me.

That's all. I just wanted to whine.

4. Well...
I spent the last 13 years in sales (the last five in high-speed data sales, i.e. cable modem Internet access), gradually working my way to a semi-supervisory position when my position was eliminated last week.

They nicely offered me a new position - the same one I had when I started 13 years ago. So...I quit.

Foolish, maybe, in this economy (and with my virtually useless Communication degree) but I just couldn't take that kind of slap in the face.

And frankly...it was killing me...I don't want to sell.
I don't want to make money for The Man while he throws me pennies.

Unfortunately, my options dwindle rapidly....

8. I took a look at your website!
Judging by the domain and the screen name, it looks as if you made it. And that implies you've got a mastery of Flash...and a lot of talent.

Why not offer your services as a web designer? It would at least get your foot in the door.

And - have you considered substitute teaching? Generally no teaching credentials are required, and you can pick up $70 per day or so. Granted, it isn't big bucks, but, again, you can start making the contacts you need.

2. I really, really, really understand and feel for you. I need a job too. No
damn temp job, like the ones I've had since I got my degree as a Paralegal, but a real job. One that I know is mine, not just some place where I go to visit for a while.

I hope you find one soon.

3. Try careerbuilder or one of those other sites
Not only can you find potential jobs, but it is easier to apply to many jobs within a short period of time. That way you'll save on postage and time. I have had a fairly good response rate this way and may actually get the job that I'm interviewing for through there.

5. Truck drivers are in demand.
It's great if you're single and it pays decent. I've been one for the past seven years and I wouldn't change a thing.

7. it's pretty bad out there isn't it?
not great here either. the only jobs i'm seeing here are with military contract companies. we've got mechanical engineers working as inspectors, and electrical engineers working as technicians, if they're lucky. have you tried temporary agencies. those jobs sometimes lead to something more permanent. please keep trying shoedogg.
