Has anyone here particpated in a flash mob
I may take part in the next one that takes place in Austin. It all seems kind of weird and random, but also mysterious and creepy.

3. no -
No, there aren't enough people where I live to form a really good flash mob.

Flash mobs all get together and do cwazy whackie phun things like admiring sofas in furniture stores at 4:47 p.m. or getting all at once on Bus no. 36, because it's bus no. 36! Emphasis on harmless and fun with a little bit of zany thrown in -

The 'members' of a flash mob communicate using email and IM's. Membership in a flash mob is not held on a yearly or monthly basis however, but maybe more like on a 'couple of minutes' basis. :D

4. They will become politicized and corporatized in due time
which is why I want to get in on it now.

ALTHOUGH, I see the possibility of a DU flashmob on election night 2004 if we win. People could gather in front of the state capitol, where all of the Bush lovers will be congregating, to tauntingly sing "NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, NA, HEY, HEY, HEY, GOODBYE!!!"

5. read about that in the NY Daily News or New Yorker
Where people all get together for some impromtu thing where they just totally mob some store and then just leave...I think that's completely funny! I would cordially invite anyone in the vicinity of Montville, Connecticut to invade my place of work when I am there....just don't tell 'em I sent ya!!! Remember to wear safety glasses...
I hear this is catching on around the world! Well, fads aren't my thing, but this one is just too funny to pass up...
