5. looks like people haven't heard the Little Willie John version |
|
Peggy Lee stole the hit, but her version is far inferior, IMO.

8. Don't know her name, but she did a smokin' version live! |
|
I was in this crappy blues club in downtown San Antonio watching a friend's band play. The TNT movie about Teddy Roosevelt and San Juan Hill was filming. TR rounded up the roughriders at a San Antonio hotel. :-)
Anyway, a group of actors from the film dropped in. One of the young ladies got up and belted out a NICE version. Very sultry. *drool*
Recorded? Peggy Lee. A classic!

17. I'll check him out, but I seriously doubt that anyone's version... |
|
...of "Fever" will blow me away like Little Willie John's did.

from NPR news ...
Don't know why, but whenever NPR would run its ads for "Wait Wait...don't tell me" they'd have Carl Kassel sing a few lines from Fever, and it was so godawful it was hilarious. Can't hear anyone else singing it now but him.
