Anyone ever tried fried pickles?

No, this isn't a Laura Bush joke.

We had lunch at this neat cafe in Searsport, ME yesterday - the Chocolate Grille. One of the appetizers on the menu was "fried pickle chips". Dill pickles in a light breading then deep fried. Man, they were delicious!

This was a first for me. I've never seen anything like that on a menu before. They were "wicked good"! :)

I went to BB's at Universal City during their Gospel Brunch and I thought they were kidding about the deep fried pickles. They weren't and they tasted great with the horseradish sauce!

....down here they take chicken...pickle...and onion..layer 'em on a stick...drench and dredge 'em thru egg and flour..then deep fry 'em!! :9

for the first time last October.

Found them incredibly nasty. There was something "off" for my mouth about the texture/taste.
