1. Ahhh...the good old days. Too bad Bettman ruined the NHL.

4. I think the NHL is the best it's been since the late 70's and early 80's.

I do think that expansion was a major fuck up, but the game itself is still highly entertaining. Since the strike the product on the ice has been really good (with a few teams as an exception). It's easy to hate on Bettman, but I think the game itself is about as good as ever. And this from a hockey guy who grew up watching those Big Bad Bruins. :)

And yes, the choke last year still hurts. x(

5. If they lost the instigator rule, moved all teams south of the mason dixon line up north,

lost the trapazoid, and put Commissioner who can skate in charge I would be OK with it. Still undecided on the shoot out.

7. I don't like the Instigator rule, and there's talk about that this offseason.

I doubt there will be changes this year, but from what I've read and heard it's not very popular.

I like the shootout, but only in the regular season. I didn't think I'd like it at all (nor was I crazy about eliminating the two-line offside), but it's been entertaining.

As a former goalie I'm biased against the trapezoid. Hextall made me want to learn to handle the puck, and I did. Goalies that handle the puck well shouldn't be punished. But all my forward friends love the trapezoid. :)

11. That and the rule about fighting in the last minute of the 3rd period, if

guys want to go to send a message or for whatever reason, let them go. The fans love it and so do the guys team mates.

Totally agree on the Trapazoid, as a Defenseman I always love a Goalie who can handle the puck.

6. And it would be nice to have a national TV deal in the states, you

know like we used to have with ESPN. No more games ever on Fox too.

8. I do believe that ESPN is interested in getting hockey back when the chance arises again.

It doesn't matter to me who televises it. I choose whichever game I want to watch and view it online anyways. Every single game is available for free online somewhere. No need to sit through a Florida/Dallas matchup when I can get a real game online. :)

10. I splurge and get Center Ice because I live in DC and I need to

watch all 82 reg season Flyers games. Don't think I've missed one (god bless DVR) since middle school.
