1. My dear jobycom!
I'm not eligible for most of these!

I guess I'd like to go for the James Bond one...:9

2. You're not saying
that you'd be the villain who knocked off Bond's first episode squeeze, are you? :o

3. Oh, of course not!
I'm saying I'd be: the first serious casual fling in a James Bond movie, silly!

:P

4. I had forgotten all about "Police Squad" and how absolutely hilarious it was.
.
.
.
.
.
That was when I had my bad motorcycle accident and Thursday nights
NBC(?) had two solid hours of GREAT 1/2-hour sitcoms. I would smoke
a bowl and lay there with a machine shooting microvoltage into my
leg to promote bone growth -- and I'd be rendered 100% helpless with
laughter for the whole time.
.
The end of "Police Squad" would feature your typical freeze-frame
shot -- except it wasn't freeze-frame... the actors would just freeze
in position. During the first episode's ending, everyone froze totally
for a full minute, at which point Leslie Nielsen started blinking rapidly
(or so I amember). Once, they escorted a monkey into the squadroom
and, while the actors froze in position, the monkey proceeded to tear
the entire squadroom into shreds.
.
That may have been the silliest, FUNNIEST show I've ever seen.
.
.

5. I watched part of an episode the other day on Comedy Central.
I couldn't finish it. Either it was a bad episode, or my tastes as a 17 year old weren't good, or that style has just been imitated so much that it doesn't work as well anymore.

But at the time, it was some of the funniest stuff I'd seen. :)

10. The one I remember is when...
Lyle Waggoner (the original Nordberg) walked into the scene a little late and didn't immediately realize they were 'freeze framing.' He freezes once then realizes everyone else is holding a coffee cup so he quickly scrambled around for his own cup and froze again.
I think this video has all the endings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_3rJqHWYjs

Not Lyle (Carol Burnett Show) Waggoner-- it was Peter(Mission Impossible)Lupus as Nordberg.

19. Never read any of him. They all like to kill a woman in every book, though.
One of my favorite detective serials is the Dave Robicheaux novels, by James Lee Burke. Burke writes well and has a gift for insight into twisted minds, and the line they walk between good and evil, and sanity and self-destruction. But damn he likes to kill women. Mothers, old girlfriends, wives, you name it. Women in his books are like Kenny in South Park. Except other law enforcement--I don't remember him killing off any female cops. And that sort of fits a profile, of a type of men who see women as either professionals or plot devices in real life. They might respect their doctor or lawyer, but otherwise see women as recreational equipment to use as they see fit. Even the doctor or lawyer would cease to be respected if they knew her socially instead of professionally. She'd either be a girlfriend, a wife, someone else's wife, a mistress--something defined by her relationship to men.

Sorry for the lecture. I go off on tangents sometimes. :)

26. Buffy, Angel, Firefly.
He's known for killing main characters just to keep his audience off balance. Bit of a jerk, really, but he's creative enough to get away with it. Creative in a nerdy geek sort of way more than an artist sort of way.
