Last Night I Was Jumped From Behind, Robbed, Beaten, Ended Up In The Hospital

Me and a friend were walking back from the pool, when we got jumped from behind, beaten, and they took my backpack which also had my wallet in it, was in and out, woke up in the hospital, bumps and bruises on head.

I was mugged, back in 2006. The LAST things on my mind were papers and money.

I just felt very lucky to be alive. The other stuff suddenly became very unimportant to me. Those things can be replaced - but WE can't.

I hope one or both of you got a description of the thug(s).
They probably tossed your backpack and empty (of $, anyway) wallet in a nearby dumpster or trash can.
I found a purse at the park, sticking out of a trash can, with stuff scattered around that had probably been in the purse. Picked it all up and gave it to the police.

I was similarly mugged years ago. 3 guys jumped me from behind smashed my head into the pavement and kept punching. Took my wallet and ran away.

I thought you were supposed to get a choice of "Your money or your life?" :wtf:

It's the sudden and excessive violence that is so disconcerting. Give yourself 2 months or so to begin to feel normal when out walking alone after dark. It takes time to get over the shock but you do get over it.

you're going to be okay. I don't know exactly what was taken from you, but these items can be replaced; you, however, CANNOT be replaced.
