Report: Pay-up or (Ted)Williams body will be de-iced
This is getting sadder.

Ex-employee: Alcor threatened to dispose of Ted's body

Former Alcor Life Extension Foundation employee Larry Johnson said company officials suggested, perhaps jokingly, they would ship Williams' body to John Henry Williams if the son didn't pay the money he still owes the company, The New York Times reported in Thursday's editions.

"One director said that if John Henry didn't pay they should ship the body in a cardboard box to him, then to Bobbi-Jo ," Johnson said in a telephone interview to the newspaper.

Johnson, formerly the Chief Operating Officer at Alcor, said in the report that John Henry Williams still owes the foundation $111,000. The entire preservation process costs $136,000.

Johnson also told The Times that he has seen Williams' frozen head.

"It's been in there for a year, and it's ghastly," he said.

2. it is time to bury the man
The family should not pay another penny for this fraud, and I would hope they look into getting this fraud shut down.

The man is DEAD. His head has been cut off. He is not coming back to life. Even Jesus himself would have a tough time pulling that off under these circumstances. Sheesh.

I've said it on other boards, and I'll say it here. Our laws against fraud need to be enforced. Families should not be extorted to pay for putting frozen heads on ice with the promise that "some day pie in the sky your father will rise again." It ain't gonna happen, common sense says it ain't gonna happen, science says it ain't gonna happen.

Why doesn't Ashcroft make himself useful and shut down this scam?

3. Sooo sad
I have a hard time believing that in the future science will be able to completely repair the cells of the body that have been damaged by the freezing process. And aside from this complication, I don't really see scientists coming up with a cure for death anytime soon.

Poor Ted. He deserves better than this. My advice is to take the body out of the deep freeze and cremate the poor man.

4. Cremate Ted Williams
And spread his ashes over the Florida Keys, the fishing grounds he so loved.
