So my A/C has had enough of this heat...

2. Call the repair guy. Sometimes its easy to fix...

but I also know the waiting for him is hell. Keep blinds closed, doors closed. Contain all the coolness of the night.

3. Not working at all, or just not keeping up?

If it's not keeping up with the heat, try taking the cover off and cleaning the coils off with a garden hose. Make sure you turn the power off first. I do this every spring.

4. It just has a wait status..looked up the code for that model online

something about the compressor not being able to start...I'll try again tomorrow..

5. It could be something simple like a contactor

Or it could be something major like the compressor. Hopefully it's still under warranty.

7. Looks like it may have got zapped in the storm

Anyway, after much pleading,crying and helpless female hand wringing repair is going to try and swing by today..

6. Mine did this a few weeks ago

Some little lizard or frog got in between the contacts and got fried. Its little bones were keeping the contacts from making a connection so the compressor would not come on. Took the repair guy about ten minutes to figure it out, then he hung around for about a half hour to make sure that was all it was.

Their minimum charge for a call is $95 so he was making sure I got my money's worth. And he got to take a break as the house cooled off.

8. My a/c went out TWICE this year

once just this past week...And it was about 100 degrees outside (not exaggerating). Not fun.
