34. Judging by the fact that they're making a remake of it, I don't think it counts as "forgotten."
It's a fun movie, sure, but not worthy of a remake 20-something years later.

and not to sound cliche the books is it based on (the movie is actually based on one book out of a trilogy) are even cooler. The author Barry Longyear wasn't satisfied with he movie but I think for the most part the movie still captured the spirit of the books.

At the time I found it powerful very effective and incredibly sad. Not sure how I'd react today-haven't seen it in ages. Perhaps a bit cliched?

Harry Hamlin and Michael Ontkean both showed tremendous guts by taking on their respective roles.
