1. GREAT! I wish you success-It has been very hard for me to lose weight, and

it seems some of the meds I am on make it even harder (which no one bothered to tell me till February).
My cardiologist put me on Atkins in February, and I am about 25 pounds away from my goal as of today, will probably make it by fall.
It has been a little tough, but it is worth it.
I go to a gym for an hour or so most days, and this really helps, too.

Good luck.

4. I've been on Atkins--have some good recipes from one of their diet
books.

What I like about this is not having to cook or worry about portion sizes. It's also going to get us (hubby is doing it too) used to having a LOT less meat--which I figure is healthy.

2. I don't know anything about this, as I have spent my life trying to
... gain ... weight. I was always 'skinny', thin, etc.
But I will ask, for you, not for me, 'are you overdoing it?'
Don't go too fast in too short of a time. Easy does it, and remember, the whole idea here is to change life habits and diet and nutrition, on a long term and permanent basis, is it not?
Or am I reading this wrong? 13 %, rather than 100 % for the week.
Anyway, good luck and stay with it, long term.

3. I am just following the plan. Eating everything recommended.
No booze, no wine--that's the hardest part.

I walk the dog every morning for 35-45 minutes and again in the evening for 15-20 minutes.
No other exercise.

I don't expect this first week of weight loss to keep up at this rate. The program says to expect
1-2 lbs/week, which seems reasonable.

5. Is it a low carb diet? Do you have to buy their food? How does it work?

6. It's low fat--very little meat. Yes, you buy their food and supplement

with veggies, fruit, snacks of protein/dairy.

The packaged food is not too bad and if you are a chocolate lover (like I am) you get lots of chocolate.
There are chocolate muffins for breakfast, chocolate protein bars for lunch, chocolate dessert/snacks.

You can choose which entrees you want when you order for a month, so if you really like several over others, you can load up on them.

The advantages, I think, are portion control and not having to figure out how much of what you should be eating. No cooking is also an advantage. I did South Beach once, and I spent way too much time in the grocery store and in the kitchen. If I had a personal chef--I'd go that route--but since I don't, I like
this.

On edit: this is also the last time I'm going to 'diet'. My goal is to lose 35 pounds, which will
put me 12 pounds over what I was when I married 25 years ago. I fully intend to keep up daily weighing
after I reach goal and I've told hubby we are going to have to cut way back on our meat and alcohol
consumption once we resume normal eating.
