5. My favorite piece of music is Pachebel's Canon in D major. Is that
a significantly different sound?

10. major chords feel light and airy, minor chords are dark and gruesome

But if you're a Canon fan (and I have Pachelbel's Greatest Hit) then you will appreciate this...

Rob Paravonian is a comedian, best known for his "Pachelbel Rant" which parodies the use of the chord progression from Pachelbel's Canon in many popular songs.

I hate it so much because the cello part is the worst cello part ever written in the history of cello parts. It's eight quarter-notes that we repeated over and over again; they are as follows: D, A, B, F#, G, D, G, A... and that's all we got to play. We repeated those eight notes fifty-four times! I counted. Because I had nothing else to do. I would sit back and listen to the violins get lovely melodies, the violas would get lovely melodies, the second violins would lovely melodies--which should just not happen! And the cello--we got stuck with eight crappy lousy stinkin' notes and I began to wonder why? Why would Pachelbel do that to us; such a beautiful instrument?!

Had to work to find the original version claiming it's in D minor. (Which is part of it's charm)

12. "Its a Dark Day" - Reverend Horton Heat
I haven't got my guitar handy to double check but, if my memory serves me correctly, this is a D minor tune appropriately called "Its a Dark Day".

At a live show once, I saw this band extend an improvised solo out to like 36 bars. I was so taken in my mouth hung open and I started to drool. This studio take is nowhere near that good but is definitely D minor dark.
