It seems the guy that posts just sets ignore and takes a nap much of the time.

But have not isolated exact pattern, so could be an anomaly of distribution.

9. Don't know about the pattern, but I do know that I'll go through old pages

to find posts with zero replies. Which sometimes causes the first wave as other people see that it has been replied to and decide to check it out.
