8. do you use Firefox?
If so, right click on the image and then scroll to "View Image info" - a screen will pop up that provides the link that you can post.

12. bad image to work with - it is not meant to be linked to directly
View Image Info won't work on that one - here is a photobucket link if you like. It is often easier to upload to a photobucket account.

19. Right click on the image and then scroll down to "Properties"
select properties and it should give you the image's link.

now I have Inspect Elements and that does not work.

23. Sorry, I have no idea what you should do if Properties is missing.
Switch to Firefox would be my suggestion. :hi:

34. Another way
Right click and select "View Image." That will load the image as a page all by itself and the address will be in the address window which you can then copy/paste like any other url...

This is in Firefox but surely there must be something similar in IE. I haven't used IE in six years and don't even have it on this machine.

20. I don't really know.
It was a typo - misspelling of something backwards - it stuck so I've just kept it.

merhaba is the "hello" type greeting - sort of "good day"

seeing that made me think I had missed something until now

27. I never knew what "Merhaba" meant!
One of my clients had a horse named that. She was boarded here for nearly twenty years and is buried here. Sweet horse - we all cried when she went.

29. well, that is Turkish
might mean something else in another language

was it an Arab type? The little Cappadoccian (spell) horses are really something. Rode out of a the town of Avanos a couple of times - first time started out as tourists with a full escort including runners and a motorcycle! More babysitters than the three riders that were being escorted. Then the horse owner figured out we knew what we were doing and the next time we didn't have to have all the extra escorts and his lame niece as a "guide" (we had obviously been around horses WAY more than she) and the second time he went with us as an actual guide and not a babysitter. After we got back he showed off his pride and joy - pretty, dark, stallion. I should dig out the pix and scan them.

10. My reasons:
Edited on Thu Sep-02-10 12:15 AM by woo me with science
1. I often have to search for very specific or hard-to-find pictures. In the new format, I can scan one big page instead of clicking through 50 pages to find the one I am looking for.

2. I like the "mouse-over" function that enlarges the picture for detail without my having to click and open an entirely different page.

3. Mouse-over now gives all the information that is on the old version, including website, picture size, and links to similar photos. In addition, there's an option to retrieve the same pic. in different sizes.

4. I use the "Web of Trust" service to identify dangerous websites. The WOT rating is included on mouse-over in the new version.

5. They haven't gotten rid of the old version; there is a link at the bottom of the page that switches between formats. I still use the old search if I am looking for a picture I will find relatively easily. The format is cleaner, and it doesn't take as long for the page to load.

15. As for posting pictures...
As far as I can tell, Google is preventing direct links from their search page in either format.

Unless I am missing something, you have to go to the website hosting the picture and link from there if you want to steal bandwidth. :hi:

25. Not sure I understand what you're saying here
in either sentence. Maybe I am just sleepy.

I tend to be more careful about (try harder to avoid) direct linking when the hosting website is small and someone is paying for limited bandwidth.

Did you mean you have to click on the pop-up image in order to go to the actual website?

.....

In my browser(s), when you click "properties" or "copy image location" for an image on the google search results page, you get a looooong string of letters and numbers. It consists of the true image location at google, followed by a bunch of extra crap that, if included in the link, will prevent the image from showing up.

You can post the picture by copying the whole thing, but then cutting off everything after the image filename extension (e.g., ".jpg").

28. See post 10
For an intelligent well thought out reason.

Me, I like the way the pictures POP out.
I never went past page 5 in the old layout. This way, I go to page 25 without a problem.
The problem being my lack of attention span.

I especially like having the option of switching between the two. They have different advantages depending on what type of search you're doing.

I even said so in this forum and was severely castrated. (Is that the right word?)

It's just faster for me though I can see how it could be a pain for dial-uppers.
