When me and Lover Boy were just dating they absolutely forbid us to stay together in their house overnight and when we said we were just going to live together his mom REALLY popped a gasket.

But she was mad at him not me.

But I never felt like she was mad at me or resented me. In fact, when we got married (3 weeks ago this upcoming Sunday BTW) she took me aside and said she wouldn't want anyone else for her boy because she said she knew I would never leave or hurt him and I was a good person.

For the longest time I kept expecting to hear her denounce the ungodly slattern in her midst but it never happened.

Who knows. I hope your boss' family will be that cool. Politics is just politics. Love should trump everything.
