Angel Perfume...
I actually found a perfume I like that is still manufactured. Yeah. :-)

Wish my mother was still alive so she could smell it. She would have liked it.

Oh, just great... when I googled for a link I found this:

http://www.national-toxic-encephalopathy-foundation.org/angelperfume.htm

Damn. :-(

1. Sigh, your post reminds me of my mom too. She was so into
perfumes, that I put her bottle of Beautiful with her ashes when we buried them.

Personally, I love Opium and so far, it has been around forever. I just can't do florals or fruits. Give me spicy.

5. My mom liked them all. She just loved perfume. The one
they stopped making that really upset her was called Red. I think. You know how it is, you go to get another bottle, and it just doesn't exist anymore. Bummer. I worry about the day that happens to me since I will wear no other. I will have to go back to the patchouli oil or something.

11. Was it Red Door?
That was a strong one! A friend gave me some for Christmas one year... too strong for me!

15. Not Red Door. Just Red. But strong was not the problem,
she had no problem with strong perfumes. (I wouldn't suggest Red personally.) It was funny, she used them more when she went to bed than during the day. I thought that she should just spray the sheets.

10. Look in the Vermont Country Store catalog.
They have Joy and a lot of other perfumes that aren't available anywhere else.

7. My mom loves Opium, and also Oscar de la Renta
... the Oscar bottle is beautiful.

I like Chanel 19 (no. 5 is way too powdery for me).

But I like 'clean' scents, too - nothing too floral or fruity or heavy.

6. I'll check it out, thanks
The two fragrances I like aren't sold in stores anymore:

Calyx Perfume, by Prescriptives

and

Raffinee (the original formula is sadly no longer made :-().

9. Thanks
Found the link: http://www.pacificaperfume.com

The Orange Blood sounds interesting. Though I'm not sure I'd want to wear a fragrance that can make a person hungry! :-)

14. that site doesn't seem to have anything specific against your perfume
although it does mention (in very alarming and hyperbolic terms) the concerns about the effects of these kinds of products on some individuals.

Perfumes, pesticides, and cleaning compounds all have ingredients that can cause adverse reactions in sensitive (and not so sensitive) people. Be considerate when using these products. I have a sister in law who seems to bathe in fake stench - will never forget one year when I was chosen to be her "secret santa" for thie family gift exchange - of course the wish was for (yet another) a bottle of her favorite. Ugh.

16. I don't want to sound like...well...I don't know what I don't want to sound like, but
I like the way a woman smells when she smells like herself. No perfumes, no scents or sachets. Just woman.

:loveya:

Provided her natural smell is a CLEAN smell, of course... ;-)

17. I agree
Most fragrances give me a headache, and they all seem to smell chemically. Maybe I just notice the carrier and not the fragrance. Especially men's cologne.
