3. I have one friend who calls me "Hoss" constantly.

I hate it. It's his revenge for introducing his gf to his college nickname: "Chuckles"

4. I believe I called someone hoss on DU not long ago.

I use it, but not very often. I perceive it as the southern way of calling someone "man."

"Hand me another beer, man."

"Pass the fried okra, hoss."
