The story of Truckin...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2IDtMy-ca8

On edit, it looks like there are a few "Story of" segments to see from that link......

1. From the American Beauty "Classic Albums" show on VH1...
...interesting to hear Hunter talk about the song in light of Weir and Lesh's assertion in a current Rolling Stone about how he hates talking about his lyrics.

2. I read somewhere once...
that Hunter does not like to supply anyone with his interpretation of his lyrics (ie: what he "means" by something).

He went on to explain that this is because his lyrics are not direct...he tries to paint a picture that could mean different things to different people. He feels that this is part of the Grateful Dead "mystique".

3. When people would ask, "What did you MEAN?" about my poetry...
.
.
.
.
.
.
...I would never tell them.
.
.
"Uh-uh... I've don't MY job -- interpreting it is YOURS!!!"
.
.
.
.
Often, it was obvious what I 'meant', and some guessed the original
intent instinctively... but the ones that were from out in left field
were usually the most interesting.
.
.
USUALLY valid interpretations... different spins and perspectives and
approaches from what I'd been thinking.
.
.
.
Almost always eye-opening for me -- I would be shown things that my
sub- or unconscious had obviously intended that I had no conscious
awareness of at all.
.
.
.
.
.
Helped me decide that I can sound like damn GENIUS if I'd just STFU.
