Dogs = Bears

OK - so dogs and bears share a common ancestor. The Beardog.

A bear is basically a wolf with 10x the body size and ability to inflict pain.



Cats = Lions

Cats will stalk bugs, or anything smaller than them. This is why we like them - the hunter in our system loves these things. We like to watch what tricks it uses to capture said moth. We like how the cat causes the hunted pain.

This is the ultimate in human acceptance : we not only like the fact the cat is eating a bug, but we cheer him/her on

This appeals to the HUNTER part of the Hunter/Gatherer part of our evolved psyche.

Dogs in particular are rarely a match for a seriously fearful cat. Come to think of it, humans don't always fair well in disagreements with cats either. Then there are all the famous cat & bear encounters...

8. Cats imitate babies by curling up and cooing (purring), Dogs? Dogs imitate

teenage love. Those are both tactics they use to ingratiate themselves with humans.
