For the first time in my life I'm an actual football fan. I don't really get much out of the game except for a few fantasies about those bestial, tight-pantsed uniforms, but I love me a crazy success story. I remember how much my grandmother loved them when they were the Aints and even before. And I know how my beloved New Orleans is healing througn identifying with being strong instead of damaged. So THIS year, I'm a total fan.

4. Well, that's overstating the case a bit.

MN held the Superbowl Champions--ones who got to be that way with a thunderbolt-and-lightning passing game--to 14 points. And they did it at N.O.'s home.

Favre and the receivers clearly need to work on their timing (there's the price for skipping training camp I s'pose) but I didn't see the Saints "running all over Favre" by any means, what was there, one sack and a few hurries?

It wasn't MN's sharpest possible game, and if you want to beat the defending champs, you have to bring your A game. But the mood around here is fairly upbeat: our no-mame corners showed up to play, against the best in a hostile environment, Adrian Peterson had a hell of a game, and despite having to shift aruond a lot of the O-line the protection was pretty good.

If seeing the Vikings win football games is going to piss you off, I'd suspect you might have a few rough Sundays coming up this fall.
