the breed of dog thread got me going

as I posted in that thread My wife brought home a Parson Russell terrier about two years ago that has become our baby.I have NEVER liked small dogs until this breed but she is my kind of dog.She is a 200 lb warrior stuffed into an 18 lb body.She is all out with our two shepperds and keeps them in their place.

when my neighbors 70ish pound shep/chow mix attacked her and I got in the middle and got attacked she was FEARLESS.She probably kept me from getting FAR worse than some stitches to the face.When the neighbor grabbed his dog off me she grabbed some ham and held on with all 4 feet off the ground shaking her head to try to get her some of what hurt me.She wasn't about to let me be the only one with blood flowing.


ANYWAYS...enough of the babbling.Thinking about that encouraged me to talk to a Parson Rescue group in Kentucky.We have exchanged a few e-mails and they are going to arrange to have someone come to my house and look things over to decide if I can be a foster for locals until they can get permanent homes.

Gonna hopefully soon have a swarm of Parson Russell terriers around here :)Lord help the local squirrel population

They are something.When I say they are 200 lb warriors in 18 lb bodies I'm not kidding.She is absolutely fearless and would..no doubt in my mind..die protecting us

My favorite is Welsh Terrier and I am signed up with a rescue group. Haven't heard anything yet but hope to get one someday.

between us..the nephew below us..and the other neighbor..we have 24/7 coverage.I'll have a slew if they approve me.

We have several hundred acres for them to run on...that's what I have to have inspected

opened e-mail.someone is coming Tuesday afternoon to look the place over and check our current dogs.

I was at the dog park one day and a dog was trying to start some shit with a Newfoundland. The Newfoundland's little terrier buddy stood between the other dog and his Newfoundland friend to protect him.
