Orphan Kitten Update

It looks like we have made it through the first 4 days. I after 2.5 days, I decided to stick with the human formula in high concentration. It was bebelac anti regurgitation formula for sensitive baby tummies. I would have to say I am a bit shocked as it produced no bloating a diarrhea... something I had experienced with kitty orphans in the distant past on proper kitty formula. Starting from today, I am upping their intake to 25ml per feeding (4-5 times per day). Am also adding yoghurt, a pinch of mayonnaise and a drop of syrup to some of their feedings. Their ears are now standing a bit more and am pretty hopeful I can keep them alive until I get them onto the small soft kitten food, ASAP.

Too bad someone hasn't invented a "glove"-like mutiple kitten nurser where they could lie on a warming pad and each have a nipple. I appreciate your and your family's dedication to helping these tiny kittens.
I heard on an NPR program that dogs are not welcome in Iran- people who have a dog have to keep it in and walk it at night- but cats are more acceptable as pets- is it similar in the UAE?

My oldest daughter is devastated, but the other kitten is still alive and we are hoping it will live.

I tried to warm it and compress its chest, but no luck.

21. He is ok for the moment, but they are so tiny and had been abandoned

for an unknown time in 100+ degree heat before we got to them.

I would say it is 50/50 at best.

you are doing your best, don't beat yourself up over losing any - there may be a reason they were abandoned, sometimes the mothers know when there is something wrong
