4. Am I close here?

Crashcup (voiced by Shepard Menken impersonating Edwin Carp) is a scientist in a white coat whose experiments invariably failed. His was the only voice heard in many of the episodes, because the other character in the series was his assistant Leonardo, who only whispered into Clyde's ear.

6. You know, that's interesting because my OP...
is based on a line from the Grateful Dead's "China cat Sunflower""...crying Leonardo words from out a silk trombone. I'm wondering if that line was either consciously or unconsciously influenced by Crashcop? The song was probably wrotten in the late 60's...

5. Only when reading your posts.
And I mean that as a compliment!

I thought this was going to be a multiple choice test. If I knew it was going to be an essay question, I would not have spent the last week in the belly of the golden cat with razor-like whiskers and breath that reeks of cheap songbird.

8. Wow.
Interesting you should post this, because if you read my response above, the OP is lyrics from a song about a cat! :o

9. Don't know why, but....
intuitively, your OP made me think of the Grateful Dead and a cat. I was never a Dead Head, but I did catch a few shows in my day. I don't remember anything about the song or tale you refer to, but it has been a long, strange trip, after all.

I have been feeling very intuitive lately. Maybe it's just male menopaws!

11. Hampton, RFK, and ....
another place whose name has been lost to time. It was on a planet that looked somewhat like our own: it had rolling fields of multi-hued grains, giant humorless trees thousands of feet tall that jumped from spot to spot, and a black black sky full of shooting stars and rainbows. I remember a cowardly lion with a mane like a sunflower. And a sweet sweet lovely girl in the meadow who <deleted to prevent thread locking>.
