although I do suspect that it's remotely possible that a goldfish could attain such a size, just based on my familiarity with the species. But I really do hope, if the story is real, that the fish *really* did get released back to enjoy a freedom it never would have known in a fishbowl. How aggravating to be caught like a common....food beast. All the goldies I raised were aristocrats, and would have liked no such thing.
