I'm so discouraged.
I've lost 23 pounds since June 29th. I have been eating perfectly. My blood sugar has been perfect, and I mean dead nuts perfect, for a couple of months now.

I have 18 locations on my body that want to be boils, but they are not boils because there is no head on them. They are just horrible skin infections that result in a half inch wide and about a sixteeth inch deep hole in my skin, and they hurt like a fucking prick.

I went to the doctor yesterday... she basically told me that they come with diabetes, and sometimes even when you are in good control, you will get them. I am treating them with gel and oral antibiotics, and if I start getting streaks, I have to go to the ER.

I'm running a fucking fever, and I can't see half of them to see if they are streaking or not.

No need to respond, because I don't want to respond back. Just wanted to type this out...maybe it will make the fuckers go away.

1. They should not go away.
Edited on Sat Sep-11-10 07:55 PM by RandomThoughts
They still need to pay what is due to me. Some of them at least.

So why would they be allowed to leave?

Although I hope you feel better. Post not directed to you, just to anyone that has more then they need, and knows that I am due.

Note comment not about 'boils' just about 'fuckers going away' Function not data.

4. they need to be cultured
and if you are running a fever, you need to go to ER.

even if you don't go, please insist your doctor check for what organism is present - MRSA is very dangerous and getting more and more common.

5. oh and don't be discouraged!
23 pounds since the end of June is EXCELLENT! congratulations! I have been huffing and puffing for 45 to an hour each day since the beginning of August and counting/cutting the calories by about a 1/4 and I got nothing to show so far :-( (except I'm starting to feel a little better so I guess that is something)

6. Don't be dicouraged...
losing 23 lbs since June is something to be very proud of. You're doing a great job of making sure you stay as healty as possible. That takes a lot of commitment. Kudos to you!!!!!

You should go and see your doc, or to a medical aid unit and have them check for the streaks, better safe than sorry. I'm sorry they're so painful.

Feel better soon.

9. Hey, 23 pounds?! Excellent!!
Seriously, congratulations, you deserve kudos on that!! Good for you, shows that you are serious about your health, and want to stick around to post more stuff here! Love it! :)

Skin infections - ugh. Keep an eye on em, you'll know if they need to be looked at, and keep in touch with your doc. Any doubts at all, get at the doc. Don't mess around with this, but you know that, you're not a fool. Give the antibiotics a chance, keep gelling them, and keep an eye on them, if you can. You're a smart dude, you know what to do.

Take care. The fuckers WILL go away, in time. :)

15. Sorrry to hear this, Lefty.
There's not much to say about suffering that can alleviate it. As Ivan Denisovich said, “How can you expect a man who's warm to understand a man who's cold?”

The only thing to note of suffering is how people react to it and how people react to those suffering

All I can do is offer you this quote from Robert Louis Stevenson. "Your letter to the Reverend H. B. Gage is a document which, in my sight, if you had filled me with bread when I was starving, if you had sat up to nurse my father when he lay a-dying, would yet absolve me from the bonds of gratitude."

http://infomotions.com/etexts/gutenberg/dirs/etext95/frdam10.htm

I always find scathing insight distracting, if not uplifting.

Hang in there. You impact people.

What you are going through is fucking hell Lefty and you are doing your best to keep your diabetes under control. Your weight loss is commendable and if I were you, I would feel proud of myself. Nothing to sneeze at chief.

I sincerely hope you start feeling better soon, like tomorrow, and you will keep us updated on those sores.

22. follow your doc's advice. and have a hug.

i find that castor oil works wonders as a topical salve against blemishes, infections, blackheads, pimples, and the like. lots of vitamin E and gently extrudes the material. also turmeric powder is great for infectious issues inside the body, as is apple cider vinegar.

but, you are under the management of your doctor, so you can't do anything but follow his/her sound medical advice. :) you are obviously in better hands with medical care, so no need to listen about what goes on from my pantry.

keep thinking happy thoughts; the gel and the antibiotics just gotta work! :7
