Why is it that when fall and winter roll around, the only colors stores offer (in clothes) are brown

black, gray and muted dark shades? I know pastels look a bit odd if you're not in SoCal or Florida or somewhere else warm year round, but I really don't feel funereal in the winter. Why am I supposed to look like an undertaker? I just want one or two blouses that are NOT black, brown, or gray or some muted mixed of all three. Or bright red, god forbid. It's like that is the only acceptable alternative and it gets old very quickly. :shrug:

Americans don't seem to 'get' the idea of "festive colors". Look at something like the Indian's sari or the clothing of some Africans. Americans just don't dress like that, and I think it's sad.

I'd probably be asked to go home and change if I dressed Happy, instead of conform! ;)
