Anyone else in the Northeast noticing a baby boom this month and next
I know of 4 people at work who are either having babies this month and two next month.

Then I did the math - January & February we were hit with the blizzards.

I'm guessing what everyone weas doing those days we were stuck snowed-in.

Yep.
My son's birthday is October 12, but since we don't have blizzards, or even super cold weather here in Northern California, I credit a Robert (Rabbie) Burns' birthday celebration my DH and I attended. :toast: ;)

2. I thought it was just me because we're trying
and not succeeding. It seems like every woman in my neighborhood between the ages of 20-45 is about 7-8 months pregnant right now. Except me. :(

Sadly, I think I just felt cramps. So not this month.

5. I didn't think I would be able to get pregnant
In 1986, we had some tests (husband passed his test w/flying colors ;)) and I had surgery, and took some hormones... nothing. Then seven years later, at the beginning of my 44th year, we were surprised, and that baby is now a 6' + almost-16-year-old. It wouldn't have happened if I hadn't had some 'repairs', but I think it has something to do with relaxing. My wise mom agreed.

9. Well I went into it knowing it may not happen.
I'm forty and just had to be realistic. But I admit it's getting harder to take with each passing month. Going to the doctor in the next couple of weeks to see what can be done (although I'm not doing anything drastic).

3. Not in my house. I got my nuts clipped right after my third daughter was born 15 years ago.

6. Last month actually.
I knew like 4 women who were pregnant but they were all due in August and had their kids already. Nobody I know is pregnant now.

8. We had a baby boomlet (5 or 6?) at work last spring.
I only know of two pregnancies this fall. The babies are due in the winter.

I get really tired of contributing to baby showers.

11. There is always a baby boom in October. At least (through my
absolutely non-scientific research and observation) TONS of people have (and have always had) October (or thereabouts) birthdays.

Its not a new phenomenon...

And I have nothing to back up my statement other than personal experience. But the amount of fall birthdays are numerous to be noticeable - at least to me they are...

Just my take on the whole thing.

(And - also from experience - being pregnant/having a baby in the summer - is not something any thinking individual would do twice... not on purpose, anyway. Been there, done that. Whoa. Not a good plan... (except for the lovely outcome - who is now - oh heck - a teenager.... sigh...)
