1. Aquarius. As the previous was The Sign of the Fish, and before that, the bull Taurus.
Myths and religions emphasize whatever Zodiac sign is ascendant in their time.

Does that mean each new age runs about 1930 years?

3. They are roughly 2500 years apart, hence the 'big deal' about aquarius.
Also, the symbolism is unifying, humanitarian, technological, and fast moving, so that adds to the 'big deal'.
