I play various string instruments that require it, at least on my left hand. I keep my righthand nails short too because it would drive me crazy to have my nails uneven.

I just can't understand why you'd want to do that. Teetering around on insanely high, ill-fitting shoes, wearing nails so long you can't use your hands, and skirts so short and tight you can't bend over, sit down, or breath. I'm all for expressing oneself and I like to dress up on occasion but not at the expense of my well-being.
