I've made up a Spanish word for "Du'ers".

The word is "dillueros." It is pronounced Dee-you-air-oss.

If you are a native Spanish speaker, Spanish teacher, or know how to say "Adios" and "Muchas gracias" and you think it should be spelled differently, please post.

2. I know how to pronounce some languages
but the vocabulary is too often not retained.

I have to ask how prominent is the pronunciation of the 'u' in "dillueros" and which syllable gets the primary accent? :)

3. Dee-you-AIR-oss.

It would rhyme with obreros, companeros (I don't know how to do the en-yay on DU.)

4. That's kind of what I thought.
I was confused with your seeming emphasis on the first syllable ;)

I don't know how to make that special character, either. Maybe just find an example elsewhere online and copy it into the text :)

7. It writes awkward, too.
Maybe we should just go with Greek, instead.

6. Sniglet?
Do you remember when "sniglets" were "IN"? I think it was sometime in the 70's (hard enough for me to remember that decade anyway).

So, this would be a Spanish sniglet for DUers?

Bueno!

P.S. Maybe I can be evil and ask you to come up with one for DU's "Dungeon"...

9. Sniglets were ahead of their time...
as exampled by ...

Chorecast (chor-cæst) n. A particularly bad weather forecast that implies shoveling or scraping ice from a windshield.

If I decide to have a few beers Friday night, I should start a thread of home grown sniglets having to do with DUers. Maybe someone's done that already.

Woot!~

17. the letter "d" is pronounced more like day than dee
the literal would probably be more like dey oo AIR oze without the "ll"/"Y" sound

guerreros would be more appropriate for gd and possibly borachos for the lounge:P
