Smallest cow in the world (33.5 in)
The smallest cow in the world featured in the new Guinness World Records 2011 book

Swallow, a Dexter cow owned by Martyn and Caroline Ryder (both UK) was measured at 33.5 in (85 cm) from rear foot to hind at Pike End Farm, Rishworth, Halifax, UK. You can find him on page 158 of the new Guinness World Records 2011 book.

3. "cow" and "him" does not compute
a cow is a mature female bovine (or I suppose certain other species but for the sake of this discussion)
usually 2 to 3 years of age and having had a calf. Prior to that she would be a heifer.

A bull is an intact male bovine, a castrated male is a steer.

calves are the babies and may be gender identified as heifer- or bull- calves. Youngsters are further categorized as weaners or weanlings (or just "weaned"), yearlings and sometimes two-year-olds.

furrin countries sometimes use other terminology like bullocks and oxen but who the hell know what that means?:P

9. You're right Kali
We had both a milk 'cow' and a 'beef critter' (and a couple of pigs and a goat) when I was in HS... I just copied what they said from the article.

Can you imagine how useless that thing would be on your ranch? :-)
