It's been raining here for hours. I left the sun roof open.

2. Oh no. Not the smartest thing, is it? I can't help much. Did this

once with a convertible and it was a matter of lots and lots of dry towel, and praying that the sun comes out soon, then leave the car open so moisture can get out as it dries. If there isn't sun for a long time, you will have to hope someone has a brilliant idea.

Just make sure you leave it open as much as possible when there is no rain.

5. Really stupid of me I have to admit.

I am going to try the shop vac in the AM, followed by towels and fans and hopefully some sun. Followed by Lysol to kill the mildew. Ugh.

8. Don't do the Lysol unless you do get mildew. Nasty stuff.

And if you can dry it quick enough, you may never get mildew. I saw someone suggest A/C running all the time when you are driving and that is a great idea to remove moisture. I would have suggested heat but this is a better idea.

I am going to look for a fancy car wash that has a shampooer as suggested elsewhere in this thread. But towels, shop vac, dehumidifier should help with the worst of it. I hope it's a nice day tomorrow.

3. just leave everything open when it stops raining

if you have to garage it or it doesn't stop raining - open it up and position a couple of fans, alternatively if you have to drive it use the AC on high constantly - it will eventually remove the moisture

you can use the usual clean-up methods on the floor and upholstery to start - lots of towels pressed and wrung out or dried in the drier etc, but fresh air is the best method long term

I have a pick-up with no drivers side window that gets left out open all the damn time, I jsut need to remember to use a trash bag and towel on the seat or I have wet clothes.

even had a car sit for any number of monsoon rains this summer and even the electric window that was open the whole time still worked when we finally noticed it was down.

6. Some of the self-serve car washes have carpet shampoo machines.

You could forgo the suds, and just use the suction.

10. Try to avoid doing this. Get a lot of towels and soak everything up.

I used to have an old Chrysler convertible that leaked like a screen door, and it stank of mildew in most weather, and the carpet never dried out. Try a shop vac if you have water under the carpets, and spray it with something to kill the mold. Good luck.
