though my hair darkened as I grew up.

often people are amazed I'm hispanic. Yes, we're in the minority, but we're not *that* rare.

Congratulations on the baby!

2. My dear Swede!
Blue eyes and blonde hair do exist among the Hispanic populations...in northern Spain, for instance, you will find that coloration. I believe BTW that the same is true for Italy...

You don't see them often, but they do exist! And congratulations on the baby too!

:hi:

4. That's not all that uncommon
One of my coworkers is thoroughly Hispanic, but his skin is pale and if you passed him on the street most people would not have guessed it. He says that he often gets into some very interesting situations because many other Hispanics don't realize it either. His wife is Anglo and he says he will often overhear someone talking in Spanish about him or his wife who doesn't realize he understands every word they are saying.

5. Lots of French and Irish were in Mexico in the early/mid 19th century -
Not to mention the Circassian Spaniards, who are paler and blonder than the average Mediterranean. Mexican Blondes or with European features are not that unusual - especially in the trade classes or upper classes.

eye and hair color. Blond/blue was non-existent where I grew up. All Hispanic Caucasians were dark-eyed, dark-haired, with many varieties of skin tone.
