1. He has a love/hate relationship with the Corvette ZR1.

He loved loved loved it at first. Then he thought it was "plastic-y" but then he loved it again. He owned a Ford GT and loved that but mocked it for it's reliability openly on the show.

He also loves the Ford Focus (albeit the RS version, not available stateside) and he did like the new Ford Fiesta.

He also really liked the Ford Mondeo, again without a stateside counterpart anymore. But yeah, otherwise he hates them all. Bear in mind, he hasn't driven/reviewed all that many of them.

On edit: I should add that it's also part of his persona to mock America/Americans as is, so that surely has something to do with it.

3. Fond?
By the end of it all, I suppose he had grown fond of it. Of course, once you put a cow on a car's roof, how could one not be fond?

5. Jeremy Clarkson is a pompous ass
Edited on Sat Sep-18-10 11:22 PM by Bombero1956
some of his quotes

On the Corvette Z06 “As something to live with every day, I’d rather have bird flu.”

on Detroit “God may have created the world in six days, but while he was resting on the seventh, Beelzebub popped up and did this place.”

On Segways “They’re made in America, of course, so fat Yanks can go to the fridge without expending any energy.”

On a Chevrolet Corvette “The Americans lecture the world on democracy and then won’t let me turn the traction control off!”

6. Actually, I find most of those pretty damn funny!
:D

It's mostly an act, like with all of them. I mean, do we really believe that James May has such a lousy sense of direction and is so stupid he can't read a map and follow directions, only to get lost every single time he's on his own or leading the group somewhere? ;)
