I want to learn Spanish -- has anyone tried Rosetta Stone?
If so, would you recommend it?

My kids are in a Spanish Immersion program -- my daughter is in her fourth year and speaks Spanish fluently. She will be a big help, but I want to be able to learn on my own, too.

Thanks!

1. Your regular teacher, Sister Rosetta Stone is on a short vacation, I am

Sorry, couldn't resist.

6. You might check
...with your local library. Our kids are in a 50-50 Spanish immersion program, too, and our local library has a contract that allows them to offer the Mango Language tool to patrons at no cost. I've tried it a bit, and it's fun!

My goal is to learn enough Spanish that my kids can't make covert plans behind my back - I need to learn key phrases, like "sneak out later," "kegger," and "Party at the Moon tower in Spanish! LOL! (Actually, the kiddos are only in 2nd and 4th grades, so I'm not too worried yet). :)

8. My kids are in third and first grades.
The majority of their day is taught in Spanish -- I think my daughter is 80% in Spanish and my son's day is 90% Spanish. It is amazing how much my daughter has learned already. She reads, writes, and speaks Spanish very well.

One day she got in trouble and after I yelled at her, she walked away from me muttering in Spanish.

My kids have already said that they can't wait to talk in Spanish so my wife and I can't understand them.

Love the "party at the Moon Tower" quote!

7. I tell people about this one, but I've never used it myself:
http://www.livemocha.com

It's free, and supposed to be similar to Rosetta Stone :)
