Has there ever been an attempt here to provide an interactive map, so we could see where everyone
is from?

I think it would be interesting to see the spread of DUers around the country and around the world.

I guess the software would have to include a feature where people couldn't post multiple hits.

Or something that isn't too specific for those concerned about giving away details.

And it wouldn't have to link the person with the area, just a hit on the map would do.

It seems that a map could be posted or pinned or embedded somewhere, so people could just come

by and hit it and we could see a real representation of the diverse areas where DUers are right now.

Has this been done yet?

If so, I missed it.

Thanks for your time.

1. That is your project for tonight. Sounds like a great idea.
Go for it.

2. Thanks, Curmudgeoness.
Maybe it won't be tonight, but I'd love to see where everyone is. I bet it would look interesting to see the clusters, and the big open spaces where there simply are no DUers.

It would be like a census of sorts, without the bother of all that personal information.

Thanks again.

I'm out for the night.

4. I'd be interested in seeing that too. And there may be fewer spaces
than we think. Some DUers talk about how "red" their areas are. I hope there are few big open spaces.

3. GregW did it many times, but I think the last one was at least 5 years ago

I'm off to the archives to see if I can turn one up (or to see that I got that name wrong :)).

Edit: While the thread is still there, the graphic isn't. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=2402900&mesg_id=2402900 Will keep trying.

6. Just tape a map to the wall, drink a beer, then listen to a Glenn Beck speech.
The splatter pattern on the map would probably be pretty accurate.
